A More Intelligent Way to Improve Your Golf
Four focused days of individual analysis, purposeful practice, on-course decision-making and outstanding Algarve golf—designed to change how you understand and develop your game.
Led personally by PGA Professional Andy Taylor. Built for golfers who value lasting progress over another temporary swing fix.
Join the Priority ListThis is not just another golf holiday
Enjoy the Algarve. Return With a Better Game.
A conventional golf break gives you memorable courses and good company. A conventional lesson may give you information, but rarely enough time to test it, refine it and trust it under pressure.
This retreat joins those experiences properly. Your coaching, practice and golf are connected through one clear performance process, so every session has a purpose and every round becomes part of the learning.
What makes it different
- Your game sets the agenda. Coaching priorities are based on your ball flight, scoring patterns, movement and goals.
- Practice is measured. Structured tasks and skills tests replace aimless repetition.
- Learning reaches the course. Strategy, routines and decision-making are coached in real playing situations.
- The group stays deliberately small. Individual attention is protected throughout.
Meet Andy Taylor
Four Decades of Coaching, Focused Entirely on Your Progress
Andy Taylor is a PGA Professional, Top 50 UK Golf Coach and postgraduate-qualified sports coach with more than forty years in professional golf.
His work has ranged from committed club golfers to county players, international juniors and NCAA athletes. The common thread is a belief that golfers improve fastest when they understand their own patterns, know what matters most and learn how to coach themselves between sessions.
A coaching philosophy, not a quick fix
Clarity Before Complexity
Technique matters, but it is only one part of performance. The retreat integrates movement, ball flight, short game, scoring, practice design, strategy and reflection into one coherent plan.
Technology supports the conversation where it adds value. It never replaces judgement, feel or the golfer’s responsibility for learning.
The Andy Taylor Performance System
Understand. Train. Transfer.
The retreat follows a simple, rigorous process that turns information into reliable performance.
01
Understand
Build an accurate picture of your game through observation, ball-flight evidence, scoring patterns and conversation. The objective is to identify the few priorities that will make the greatest difference.
02
Train
Use purposeful drills, clear feedback and representative practice to create skill—not just a better-looking swing on the range. Progress is tested rather than assumed.
03
Transfer
Take the learning onto the golf course through better decisions, stronger routines, realistic shot selection and a more productive response to mistakes and pressure.
TrackMan performance analysis
Evidence That Sharpens the Coaching Conversation
TrackMan will be used to establish reliable baselines, explain ball flight and confirm whether a change is producing the intended outcome.
The numbers are not the destination. They provide objective feedback so you can connect what you feel with what the club and ball are actually doing.
Analysis with a practical purpose
- Club delivery and ball-flight patterns.
- Carry distance, dispersion and gapping.
- Driver efficiency and launch conditions.
- Evidence-based testing of technical changes.
- Clear performance benchmarks to revisit after the retreat.
Practice facilities
Space to Learn Properly
High-quality practice facilities create the time and variety needed to develop skill rather than rush through a lesson before the next tee time.
Sessions will move between full swing, wedge play, short game, bunkers and putting, with each environment selected to match the performance priority being trained.
Purposeful, not repetitive
Expect clear tasks, changing constraints and measurable outcomes. Some work will isolate technique. Other sessions will recreate the uncertainty and decision-making of the golf course.
The intention is to leave you with practice methods that remain useful long after the Algarve.
Championship course experience
The Course Is Where Improvement Becomes Real
Outstanding Algarve courses provide more than scenery. They create the strategic questions, uneven lies, wind, pressure and consequences that reveal how well a new skill is transferring.
On-course coaching will focus on how you prepare, choose shots, manage risk, respond to poor outcomes and build a score when your swing is not perfect.
A better way to play
- Pre-shot clarity and commitment.
- Tee-position and target selection.
- Choosing the highest-percentage shot.
- Managing misses and avoiding compounding errors.
- Scoring from imperfect positions.
- Post-round review that produces useful learning.

Villa Rio and the Algarve lifestyle
Performance Needs the Right Environment
The retreat is intended to feel focused without becoming clinical. Villa Rio provides a private base where the group can relax, review the day and enjoy a more personal experience than a conventional resort package.
Beyond the golf, the Algarve offers warm evenings, local restaurants, coastal scenery and the space to step away from normal routines.
A premium retreat, not a production line
- Private villa accommodation.
- Comfortable communal spaces for reviews and informal discussion.
- Time to recover between coaching and golf.
- Relaxed shared meals and local experiences.
- Potential options for non-golfing partners, subject to final demand.
